A brand new show featuring CPD sessions aimed at drama specialists and those involved in musical theatre. It’s basically the best minds in drama education converging in one place to share ideas, try out workshops, meet and chat to others in the sector and question key OFSTED and exam board figureheads on the latest syllabus developments. The show also includes performances, an exhibition comprising leading performing arts companies and organisations (many offering discounts for the duration of the show) and a range of fireside chats with industry professionals, on everything from education issues and where to study, to stories from the road and how they got to where they are today.
The show is co-located with Music Education Expo, so you’ll be able to network, share ideas and explore departmental cross-over with music colleagues. This also means that you are able to attend any of the Music Education Expo sessions (also for free!) and try your hand at vocal warm-ups, play a new (or first!) instrument, and borrow best practice ideas from music practitioners showing off their award-winning approaches.
‘The MTDES will be a place where teachers can be inspired by the work of their colleagues, pick up resources, and learn about education policy from the experts. Running alongside Music Education Expo, the show will also provide a means to explore department-crossover and take in workshops and seminars on subjects which other drama education shows do not have the scope to offer. This is the beginning of a wider community of drama and performing arts teaching staff, and the opportunity to hear from some fantastically inspiring speakers.’
